Award-Winning Children’s Theatre Company brings two School holiday performances for July

The internationally acclaimed Little Dog Barking Theatre will bring two productions, “Little Kowhai Tree” and “Guji Guji” during these July school holidays in Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt & Wellington.

Winners of the Outstanding Theatre Award at the 2014 Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Best Foreign Drama Award at the Asian Pacific Puppet Festival in Chengdu, China Little Dog Barking is pleased to announce that we have been chosen for a finalist in the Wellington Airport Regional Community Awards 2016– Porirua Region.

Little Kowhai Tree: Little Kowhai Tree tells the story of a kowhai tree and all the friends it needs to help it grow. Meet Ruru the Morepork, Tui, Worm and a host of other characters as they find a way to make the kowhai tree grow and protect it.

Full of music, sounds, song and action, Little Kowhai is a wonderful introduction to theatre for young children. Little Kowhai is not only entertaining; it is also a great learning experience for young audiences. Suitable for children 2 years – 8 years old and their companions.

Families wanting to catch up with the Little Dog Barking’s Theatre production of Guji Guji will be able to catch it at Expressions Theatre in Upper Hutt and Te Papa in Wellington.

Guji Guji: Based on the best-selling book by the same name and published in New

Zealand by Gecko Press, the story tells of a strange egg that rolls into a duck’s nest. The Mother duck is oblivious to the strange egg and hatches it out along with her other eggs. What a strange creature emerges!
This wonderful and colourful production is suited for children 2 years – 10 years, and their companions. A simple and beautiful story about being different.

Little Dog Barking Theatre will leave the country shortly after the school holiday performances and tour to Japan, China and Australia with the production of Guji Guji.
