Medical airlift from Waihi
Last night just after midnight the Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Waihi township where a 65 year old local man had become seriously unwell due to an existing medical condition.
The man was stabilised by St John medics before being flown to Waikato hospital in a serious condition.
The helicopter was used due to the seriousness of the patients condition and distance to hospital, the flight was carried out with the use of Night Vision equipment.
