Havelock Rd repairs

Sorting out the best way to fix an uneven stretch of surface on Havelock Rd in Hastings has taken longer than hoped but the problem has now been solved and it will be repaired in about 12 weeks’ time.

The issue appeared after work on widening the road was completed earlier this year.

The problem affects about 600 metres between Havelock Bridge and St Andrews Rd, along the seam where the old road joins the new widened stretch.

The solution has now been decided but with planning difficult over the winter months and a second coat of seal due later this year, it has been decided to combine September repair works with the October seal work.

The contractor will be making the repair at no cost to ratepayers.
