Wellington Wannabe Mayors Forum

Wellington Wannabe Mayors Forum

We'd like to invite you to a special one-off event, the Wellington Wannabe Mayors Forum, on Tuesday, September 13th. The doors – and the bar – will be open from 5.30pm for a 6pm start. Koha entry.

Held at the stylish Prefab Hall on Jessie Street, central Wellington, the event will be a chance for you to come along, have a drink, and hear from – and quiz – the candidates for the Wellington Mayoralty.

The event will include a special ‘mystery question’ round in which the candidates each pull from the hat and answer one question submitted ahead of time on Facebook and Twitter. So if you can’t make it, or even if you can, please put your questions in the comments below!

With eight candidates standing – including one current mayor, the deputy mayor, and four sitting councillors – it's the most interesting field in many years, and there's lots at stake.

The airport extension, more roads, the Living Wage, the proposed convention centre, the council's 'toxic' working culture ... all these issues – and more – will be up for debate.

And we think it's important to put candidates under the spotlight – as part of Wellington Scoop's continuing commitment to public debate about our capital city.

Please do come - we'd love to see you there. Entry is by koha donation.
