BAS has moved

BAS has moved

We have great news: Beneficiary Advisory Service has moved office into Christchurch Community House (at 301 Tuam St). We look forward to all the opportunities this will afford – being close to so many other community groups. We hope the ease of access for clients will help us reach even more people in the community.

We are here to provide help for beneficiaries experiencing problems with Work and Income (WINZ). This help ranges from simple queries for information or advice about entitlements in the benefit system (including types of benefit, rates of payment & repayment, work testing, eligibility criteria and rights), to complex legal issues in relation to all aspects of welfare Law. These include: benefit applications (and declines); overpayments; stand-downs, sanctions and backdating; investigations for fraud (accusations of working on a benefit or being in a marriage type relationship); reviews and appeals (when someone disagrees with a decision made by WINZ); and complaints. We can even help with some ACC issues.

If you or someone you know might need our help – please give us a call and our friendly advocates will do their best to help you!

Rebecca Occleston is the Speaker for Beneficiary Advisory Service (BAS)
