Planned bridge beams lifts on Wellington’s SH2 postponed

TRAFFIC BULLETIN

22 August 2016 | CENTRAL REGION

Planned bridge beams lifts on Wellington’s State Highway 2 postponed

High winds forecast for tonight have led to the postponement of tonight’s planned closure of State Highway 2 at the Haywards interchange, where concrete bridge beams were due to be lifted into place for the new interchange.

The construction team is monitoring the forecast for Tuesday 23 August and if the weather is suitable, will carry out the planned closure and bridge beam lifts then. If the lifts go ahead, State Highway 2 will be reduced to one lane each way, just north of State Highway 58, from around 6.30pm on Tuesday night. The placement of the beams will require a series of rolling approximately 30-minute road closures on State Highway 2 from 10pmthrough the early hours of Wednesday morning

Please follow NZ Transport Agency Wellington (NZTAWgtn) on Twitter and Facebook for the latest updates, and keep an eye on the electronic message boards in the area.
