Three innovative Chch charities at live crowdfunding event
Three innovative local charities to pitch for support at live crowdfunding event
The Funding Network NZ (TFN) is holding its debut Christchurch event on the 13th of September. The Funding Network runs impactful and high energy live crowd-funding events. This event is in support of three innovative grassroots charities and is in partnership with The Vodafone Foundation and The Gift Trust.
The theme for this round of The Funding Network is Christchurch Youth. Sam Johnson from The Student Volunteer Army is our MC for the night. The event will be held at the new Vodafone building in the Innovation Precinct. Light supper and refreshments are provided.
Attendees will be entertained
and inspired by the dynamic 6-minute pitch and Q&A session
from our three charities. A fun live-pledging session
follows where we hope to raise between $8,000 and $10,000
for each charity (yes, we’ve done it before!) We ask for a
minimum of $100 per pledge. In an age of digital
fundraising, live crowdfunding is making an unusual but
successful foray into the philanthropic world.
Our three charities for this event
are:
Qtopia - provides social support, education and advocacy for non-heterosexual and gender diverse (rainbow) young people in Canterbury.
Cultivate Christchurch – creating a network of urban farms, growing skills and providing meaningful work experience for young people.
PYLAT (Pacific Youth Leadership and Transformation) – Supporting Pacific young people by empowering Pacific youth to actively participate in democracy and take on leadership roles.
All three charities are in need of a funding boost to continue doing their much-needed work in the community. You can learn more about the three charities HERE.
The Funding Network is an international
movement that’s been described as crowdfunding meets
Dragon’s Den. The Funding Network has run events in
Auckland and Wellington and is thrilled to debut in
Christchurch this year.
TFN’s Christchurch event is hosted by The Vodafone Foundation and is sponsored by The Gift Trust with in-kind support from Philanthropy NZ and Brown Bread. The Funding Network was launched in NZ by the Auckland Communities Foundation. Together we are supporting smaller charities’ vital work in the community. We invite you to join us.
