Chamber welcomes BlindSquare innovation

Wellington Chamber of Commerce welcomes the addition of the BlindSquare innovation to help people with sight loss get more easily around the CBD.

“This navigation app is a great innovation that will enable people who are blind or have low vision to explore the city,” says Chief Executive John Milford.

“It’s a first for New Zealand and fits perfectly into the city’s image as a technology-savvy place for its residents and for visitors.

“It makes us more user-friendly, and that’s vital in this day and age. We want everyone to be able to participate fully in the services and shopping we have to offer.

“Congratulations to the City Council and to councillor David Lee who thought to implement it, and then followed it through with the Blind Foundation, Kontakt.io, and Radiola Smart Transit.”
