MORE FM Fireworks Spectacular 15 October

South Taranaki, get set for some serious pyrotechnic explosive fun when the More FM Fireworks Spectacular takes place on Saturday 15 October at the Egmont A & P Show Grounds in Hawera.

Gates open at 6.30pm and Whanganui band The Clazzmatic Boogie Orchestra will be performing until the fireworks start. This popular seven piece jazz band play a wide range of music - funky soul to R&B from artists such as Etta James Chicago and Bruno Mars.

The Fireworks Spectacular attracts thousands of people each year and is a very popular event in the region’s events calendar.

It’s a real fun; family affair says event organiser Jody Bloor.

“Bouncy castles, face painting, merry-go-round, mini ferris wheel, glow sticks and other glowing products will be on offer for the youngsters and the young at heart,” says Jody.

“Last year we introduced good old fashioned games like the three legged, sack and wheelbarrow races, which were so popular that they will definitely be back this year”.

“There will also be a variety of stalls to purchase food from such as pizza, Vietnamese food, American hotdogs, bbq, bratwursts, coffee, donuts and ice cream. Or you can pack a picnic and enjoy a great family night out.”

As in previous years the fireworks display is choreographed by Van Tiel Pyrotechnics, the company that staged New Zealand’s largest ever display for the Auckland Millennium celebrations. They were also the company responsible for the fireworks at the opening of the Rugby World Cup.

“Last year we had over 3000 people attend and, despite the drizzle which started as people were leaving, it was a great night.”

If you enjoy family fun, good music, great food and a fireworks display that will blast your socks off in a safe and controlled environment then you should definitely come and share this evening of fun with us!”

Entry to the Show Grounds for the evening is $5 for adults, $2 for children or $12 for a family (2 adults 3 children). Car parking is available at TSB Hub and entry to the Show Grounds will be from Burnside Avenue and Williams Avenue.

If the weather is unsuitable the event will be on Sunday 16 October.

Residents are reminded to keep pets and animals safe during the evening. As with every year around Guy Fawkes time, animals can easily get spooked.
