Road
works around South Canterbury – starting next week, 5
December
People who drive along State Highway 1
through South Canterbury or State Highway 79, Geraldine to
Fairlie, need to be aware of some essential summer road and
bridge repair/ remediation work in the next few days which
may cause short delays.
“All these works will be weather and site conditions-dependant and the timeframes may alter a little,” says Transport Agency Journey Manager Lee Wright.
“We encourage all road users to be ready for short delays at these places at particular times, mostly outside peak hours. This is the best time of the year to do this work with the temperatures warming up but we do ask people to take care near our hard-working crews.”

which a final chip seal surface will be installed in
February 2016. The site will be down to one lane controlled
