ManaBus.com launches overnight Auckland to Wellington sleeper service

Wellington and Auckland are now just a good night’s sleep away with the launch of ManaBus.com’s premium overnight sleeper bus service, the only one of its kind in New Zealand.

Departing daily at 11pm, the new express service linking downtown Auckland and Wellington will operate using a new fleet of bespoke buses, each fitted with leather seats and full lie flat beds.

The new sleeper bus service will complement ManaBus.com’s existing evening Auckland to Wellington services which will continue to depart Auckland at 11pm and Wellington at 11pm.

Designed and built in Tauranga, the purpose-built sleeper buses feature 39 lie flat beds allowing travellers to stretch out overnight, as well as nine standard seats for those night owls who prefer to sit. At almost two metres long the beds make for a comfortable night’s sleep, and the buses also boast tables, at-seat charging points, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning and a toilet.

“We have designed the new ManaBus.com sleeper service based on feedback from our customers and our experience operating sleeper services internationally, to design and deliver the only sleeper bus service in New Zealand,” adds Ms Otway.

• The seats to sleeper bed conversions were designed by New Zealand design company Starfish Interiors.

• The buses feature 39 single beds and nine standard seats. The bottom bunk is twin sleeper and the top bunk is single sleeper. The beds permanently lie flat.
