Power restored in the Upper North Island – Final update

Transpower advises that it has managed to repair some of its network in the Upper North Island so that power is able to be restored to the local community.

A number of the insulators damaged earlier today have been replaced in a manner to allow power to be restored earlier than the projected 6pm timeframe. Repairs on the remaining insulators will continue over the course of the afternoon and into tomorrow.

It will take around 30 minutes for Top Energy to now restore their network. We expect power to be progressively restored over the next 30 minutes.

We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused and thank those affected for their patience while we have made the necessary repairs.

This will be the final update provided.
