Council appoints Councillor directors
Christchurch City Council has appointed Councillor directors to the boards of its subsidiaries Christchurch City Holdings Limited (CCHL) and Transition Holdings Limited (THL) formerly Canterbury Development Corporation Holdings Limited.
The Council appointed Mayor Lianne Dalziel, Deputy Mayor Andrew Turner, Councillor Vicki Buck and Councillor Jamie Gough as directors of CCHL, effective from yesterday. Current Councillor Director Yani Johanson also retired at this time.
Mayor Lianne Dalziel, Deputy Mayor Andrew Turner, Councillor Raf Manji and Councillor Tim Scandrett have been appointed to the board of THL for up to six months. This appointment is effective from today and coincides with the retirement of Councillor David East and Paul Lonsdale from the board.
The Councillor appointments for THL make up four of the 10 positions with the remaining six comprised of independent directors.
The independent directors are:
• Therese Arseneau (Chair)
• Kaila Colbin
• Louise Edwards
• David Hawkey
• Raewyn Idoine
• Grant Ryan
Laura Meriluoto was also appointed as Intern Director to Transition Holdings Ltd in July 2016 for eighteen months, under the Christchurch City Holdings Ltd Internship Programme.
Transition Holdings Limited (THL)
Transition Holdings Limited (THL), formerly Canterbury Development Corporation Holdings Limited, is 100 per cent owned by the Council and is the holding company of Canterbury Development Corporation (CDC) and Christchurch and Canterbury Tourism (CCT).
Christchurch City Holdings Limited (CCHL)
Christchurch City Holdings Limited (CCHL) is the Council’s 100 per cent owned investment arm, holding shares in seven trading companies.
