Mobility scooters available for cemetery visitors

Two mobility scooters will now make visiting the Kelvin Grove Cemetery and Crematorium easier for some visitors. The easy to operate and battery-powered scooters located at the cemetery office allow those with mobility issues, an opportunity to explore most sections.

“The mobility scooters will allow visitors to travel through the cemetery with ease and independence,” says Palmerston North City Council Manager – Community Engagement Ian Littleworth. “It is nice to know that people who haven’t been able to visit the cemetery due to mobility issues, will now have an option for them.”

An office administrator located at the cemetery from 9am – 3pm on weekdays, will assist those wanting to use a scooter. Bookings are not required and there is no cost.
