Four new members for Auckland Regional
Amenities Funding Board
Four new members have been appointed to the Auckland Regional Amenities Funding Board.
Auckland Council’s Appointments and Performance Review Committee has approved the appointment of Precious Clarke and Victoria Carter as board members for three year terms commencing 1 June 2017.
At the same time the Amenities Board has confirmed the appointment of Bryan Mogridge and Megan McSweeney to fill two positions that became available due to director rotation.
Current Board Chair Vern Walsh and Deputy Chair Anita Killeen were reappointed for a further three years.
The Appointments and Performance Review Committee is responsible for all board appointments to substantive council-controlled organisations (CCOs) and external partnerships such as Auckland Regional Amenities Funding Board (ARAFB).
The Amenities Board is made up of the chief executives of the ten institutions funded through ARAFB and under the ARAFB Act is responsible for appointing four directors to ARAFB.
Precious Clarke is a former member of the Independent Maori Statutory Board and is Ngāti Whātua, Waikato and Ngāti Pākehā.
Victoria Carter ONZM was a legacy Auckland City councillor and a former deputy chair of the Auckland Arts Festival.
Bryan Mogridge ONZM has an extensive background in corporate management and governance and is a former chair of the Committee for Auckland and a former chair of the Starship Foundation.
Megan McSweeney is a board member of Tourism Industry Association New Zealand and Convention Incentives New Zealand and currently works at Auckland Museum as director - business, external affairs, tourism and sales.
