Medical Emergency in Taihape And Emergency Transfer to Hastings
The Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Taihape early this morning at around 4:00 am for a woman in her 60’s with a medical emergency. She was stabilised by St John paramedics before being airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital. The mission was flown with the aid of Night Vision Goggles. Then later at around 1:00 pm the helicopter conducted an emergency transfer of a woman in her 20’s from Palmerston North Hospital. She had facial injuries and required specialist surgery in Hastings Hospital.
