Dunedin: first water test results

Dunedin: first water test results

Update - water test results

Water test results received tonight show clear results for the parts of Dunedin affected by this week’s water quality issue. However, a boil water notice remains in place until at least Friday afternoon.

Tonight the Dunedin City Council received the first test results from water samples taken across the affected area yesterday. These tests measured the quality of the water at the time the samples were taken and indicate the state of the drinking water after flushing of the system had started.

DCC Group Manager Three Waters Tom Dyer says the results are within normal safe drinking water standards. Staff will review the results with Public Health South tomorrow to see if they are able to be classified as the first day of clear test results. The full test results should be able to be released tomorrow.

Three days of clear test results are needed before the boil water notice can be lifted.
