Previous Fairs have attracted vendors selling a variety of artisan and commercial products including chocolate, sweets, fudges, jam, condiments, sauces, dressings, vinegars, dips, spreads, pesto, preserves, breads, baking, cheesecakes, wines, beer, ports, liqueurs, juices, cordial, teas, olives & olive oils, nuts, salts, peppers, pies, ice cream, popsicles, coffee, meats, salami, seafood, honey, health products, kombucha, microgreens, fruits; along with a variety of kiwi favourites and ethnic foods to devour on the day. 2017 will be no exception.

“The Fair is clearly shaping up to be another major event for Kapiti that will embrace visitors and locals and provide them with an opportunity to sample new foods, buy gifts and to stock-up their pantry at home,” says Helene Judge, co-owner of the Fair. Helene goes to say that “our marketing has been planned and started which is bringing another wave of excitement to everyone involved with the Fair.”

The entertainment programme has been finalised and includes jazz, blues, funk, pop, folk, classic rock & kiwi tunes, No 1 hit covers from the 60s to now, original music and youth musicians. “This year we have arranged for special busker performances that are likely to be popular with younger children,” says Jeanine van Kradenburg, the other co-owner of the Fair.

“We are also in the process of developing the demonstration menus with our Celebrity Chef Jax Hamilton and tickets are on-sale to attend her Masterclass,” says Jeanine. Jax demonstrates dishes that are simple, full of flavour and that will blend a bit of cockney with a pinch of Caribbean, and all served up on a kiwi plate!
