Four Rescue Helicopters Dispatched to Motor Vehicle Accident
The Hamilton-based Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter, the Tauranga-based Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter, the Rotorua-based BayTrust Rescue Helicopter and the Taupo-based Greenlea Rescue Helicopter were all dispatched to a major motor vehicle accident on Tuesday 10 October, on State Highway One and Tutukau Rd, Oruanui.
The accident involved two vehicles, with mutiple paitents requiring medical attention. NZ Police, NZ Fire and St John’s were all in attendance.
The Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter airlifted a 10-month-old baby who had suffered to Waikato Hospital.
The BayTrust
Rescue Helicopter airlifted a male in his
40’s with multiple injuries to Waikato Hospital.
The
Greenlea Rescue Helicopter airlifted
and 42-year-old female with chest and abdominal injuries
Waikato Hospital.
The Trustpower TEC Rescue
Helicopter has recently been dispatched to the
scene.
Other patients were transported via road
