Stop the transfer and privatisation of Tāmaki State housing
Stop the transfer and privatisation of Tāmaki (former) State housing tenancies
Directly-affected (former State housing) tenants in Tāmaki, would like the incoming Government to give very serious consideration to stopping the transfer of the management of 2,800 families tenancies in Glen Innes, Pt England and Panmure, to an Australian-based private provider.
Since 2011, these families have faced major upheavals, and we object to tenants being used to another 'pass the parcel' exercise, after already having Housing NZ tenancies transferred in 2016.
Its absolutely crucial for the incoming Government to put the brakes on the privatisation of (former) State housing properties and privatisation of the management of (former) State tenants.
Housing NZ needs to be returned to a 'one stop shop', under the genuine public service model, carrying out the social objectives of duty of care for both the tenants and the houses.
