Truck rollover blocked SH63 before 1 pm today
Prior to 1pm a truck rolled on State Highway 63 near Tophouse Road and the road is closed between Kawatiri and Renwick.
Police and contractors are onsite. This highway is expected to be closed until 5pm at this stage - next update will come before then (see link below). Early reports are that there is a significant clean up required on site with gravel spilled on the highway.
In meantime people can
travel State Highway 6 via Nelson to the West Coast from
Picton and State Highway 1 via Kaikoura to Christchurch with
extra time built in.
