WOMAN AIRLIFTED FROM MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN MAPIU
The Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter responded to Mapiu, south of Te Kuiti, just after 12 pm on the 6 February for a 68-year-old Wellington woman who had sustained various head, limb, and abdominal injuries after her car left the road and impacted a bank.
The woman was transported via road ambulance to the local Mapiu School grounds to the waiting rescue helicopter. She was stablised by the onboard Intensive Care Paramedic before to being airlifted to Waikato Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
