Hyundai helps Muscular
Dystrophy Association to connect with the
community
Two new Hyundai Accent cars will be an
‘invaluable’ help to the Muscular Dystrophy Association
of New Zealand (MDANZ), connecting staff with the community
and providing support to people with the condition,
according to MDANZ Chief Executive Ronelle Baker.
Speaking at the handover of the two new cars, Ms Baker said as the sole supplier of vehicles to the organisation, Hyundai New Zealand played an essential part in making sure staff can continue their good work.
“Having the support of Hyundai New Zealand is essential if we are to continue our Fieldworker Service, helping people with neuromuscular conditions to break down barriers and enjoy more fulfilling lives,” she said.
Hyundai New Zealand General Manager, Andy Sinclair, handed over the keys to the two cars. He said for Hyundai, as a New Zealand owned company, the relationship with MDANZ was a ‘wonderful’ chance to help people in communities throughout New Zealand.
“We have supplied vehicles to branches of MDANZ throughout the country, and we are proud to help people with muscular dystrophy achieve their goals,” he said.
The relationship between Hyundai and the MDANZ began in 2012 and a range of vehicles have been supplied for the Fieldworker service, including four Santa Fe SUVs. The mutually beneficial relationship is now extending out into a range of other areas where there are synergies to be explored.
MDANZ is a New Zealand-based ‘not for profit’ organisation which provides information and support to people affected by rare, genetic neuromuscular conditions. Branches throughout the country are supported by a National Office in Auckland.
“We want our members to attain freedom beyond limits and this vision underpins everything we do,” said Ms Baker. “You couldn’t wish for a better opportunity to make this a reality.”
