Retirement village residents eligible for rate rebate
Retirement village residents eligible for rate rebate
Retirement village residents may soon be eligible to apply for a rate rebate of up to $620 a year.
Department of Internal Affairs announced changes to the rate rebate Retirement Village Amendment act, which allows retirement village residents to apply.
The change comes into effect from the new rating year on July 1.
It predominantly affects residents of Beetham Village, Kiri Te Kanawa Village and Riverdeen Park who were not previously eligible.
The rate rebate is means tested as it is designed to help ratepayers on low incomes.
Orange Grove and Sycamore Park retirement village residents are already eligible to apply for the rate rebate.
