Waikato LASS appoint Kelvin French as CEO
Kelvin French has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer at Waikato Local Authority Shared Services (WLASS) and will take up this position on 1 June.

Council’s Chief Executive Gavin Ion, welcomed Kelvin’s
appointment: “Kelvin, who lives in Hamilton, has held
senior finance and tax roles within the Waikato including
with AgResearch and PwC,” he said.
“Kelvin has
notably strong financial, risk and tax management experience
and a track record of leading diverse and talented teams. He
has a depth of experience within the private and public
sectors. We are very pleased to welcome him to the team,”
said Mr Ion.
WLASS is a company owned by twelve councils – Waikato Regional, Hamilton City, Hauraki District, Matamata Piako District, Otorohanga District, Rotorua District, South Waikato District, Taupo District, Thames Coromandel District, Waikato District, Waipa District and Waitomo District.
The company was established in 2005 to
promote shared services between local authorities across the
Waikato region. By working together, WLASS can reduce costs,
achieve effectiveness and efficiency gains, reduce
duplication of effort and eliminate waste through
repetition, promote and contribute to the development of
best practice, and improve customers’
experiences.
