Train delays due to incident in Britomart

9 May 2018

Trains services in and out of Britomart Station have been temporarily stopped due to a non-injury partial derailment. Auckland Transport advises that three carriages (on a six-carriage train) have come off the tracks meaning that the train is immobile.

The incident occurred at low speed as it was leaving platform 2 at around 9.40am. The train remains upright and there are no injuries.

Thirty-three passengers on-board are being transferred on to replacement bus services.

Until the issue is resolved, passengers can expect cancellations and delays.

Customers are advised to use alternative bus travel where possible. Train services elsewhere on the network continue to operate as normal.
