Let’s talk about some development opportunities

Ōtākaro Limited is inviting parties interested in two prime development opportunities in Christchurch’s South Frame and Te Papa Ōtākaro/Avon River Precinct to a discussion about the future of these sites at 3pm 19 July 2018.

“Rather than jumping into the paperwork we want to first have a conversation with developers about the kind of opportunities that these sites can offer," says Ōtākaro Limited Strategy and Property Opportunities General Manager, Keith Beal.

“It’s a slightly different way to do things but we are hoping it will ensure everyone is on the same page before taking the time to prepare a proposal.”

Located within the Commercial Central City Mixed Use Zone, 243 Cambridge Terrace has a total land area of approximately 1,820m2.

“Sitting beside the river on the corner of Manchester Street and Cambridge Terrace, this site offers unobstructed views and lots of greenery that would enhance the likes of a residential development or live-work unit,” says Mr Beal.

“The site borders the Avon River Precinct, meaning it has a direct connection to Victoria Square, Te Pae and the new restaurants and bars along the Terrace. It is also just a few steps away from the Margaret Mahy Playground which leads onto Rauora Park.”

Located within the Commercial Central City (South Frame) Mixed Use Zone, 142-144 Tuam Street has a total land area of approximately 1,029m2.

“This site is adjacent to the Justice Precinct and opens out onto Mataī Common and the laneways. Other education and hospitality developments are well underway so this is a chance to further shape life in the South Frame.”

Ōtākaro favours developments that can be delivered in a timely manner, will attract people to the central city and increase expenditure and/or foot traffic in an area. ‘Land banking’ will not be facilitated.

Parties interested in attending a meeting on the future development of 243 Cambridge Terrace and 142-144 Tuam Street can emailproperty@otakaroltd.co.nz for further details.
