Hawke's Bay Tourism takes out Industry Alignment Awards
Regional Tourism New Zealand (RTNZ) congratulates Hawke’s Bay Tourism on their recent win at the annual New Zealand Tourism Awards.
Hawke’s Bay Tourism was the recipient of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment Industry Alignment Award at the New Zealand Tourism Awards Gala on Thursday 6 September.
“It’s always good when one of our members is the recipient of such a well-regarded industry award”, said Charlie Ives, Executive Officer of RTNZ. “The project Annie Dundas, CEO of Hawke’s Bay Tourism and her team undertook to successfully align local councils, business associations and over 300 tourism operators to create one visitor website to promote the region was no easy feat”.
“It’s a great example of what can be achieved when everyone works together towards the same goal – that of marketing a region collaboratively which in turn delivers a far better visitor experience, before they even set foot in the region.”
“This award is recognition of
the important role RTOs play in our industry. As tourism
grows and our regional marketing arms tackle destination
management issues, as well as, the day to day marketing of
the destination it has become increasingly important that we
understand the challenges and opportunities our operators
are dealing with, have a strong strategic direction for the
region and manage a coordinated approach. Hawke’s Bay
Tourism has achieved this and we are delighted the New
Zealand tourism industry has recognised this also.
