Nigel Latta will launch his new parenting talk, Adventures in Parentland, at a fundraising event for children’s charity Kenzie’s Gift on Wednesday 17th October at Westlake Boys High School in Auckland.
Adventures in Parentland will provide tips for parenting in the modern age. "Happy, healthy, confident children is something all parents want,” says Nigel, “but getting there is sometimes a bit challenging. While we might be the same humans we’ve always been for the last hundred thousand years or so, the world itself has changed incredibly, and those changes are only going to speed up over the coming years. So how do we prepare our kids for living a good life in the modern age?"
The thought-provoking event is guaranteed to both entertain and challenge as Nigel shares insights gained over a 20+ year career spent traveling the world in search of answers to all kinds of questions.
Adventures in Parentland will cover everything from the parenting basics to helping your kids plan for the future and tackle the ‘big’ issues like stress, anxiety, and depression.
This is an evening full of real world solutions, for real world problems.
Nigel says, “I am honoured to be the Ambassador for Kenzie’s Gift, a charity providing a range of incredibly important psychological services to children and families struggling with life threatening illness or bereavement. It is fundamentally important that families struggling with these kinds of issues receive support that is evidence-based rather than simply ‘well intended’.”
Thirteen-year-old Luka Wolfgram lost his younger brother Kosta to childhood cancer. Luka says, “Kenzie’s Gift helped me when I needed it the most. Losing Kosta has made me feel so hurt and furious…all the nevers in this world are heartbreaking. The support from Kenzie’s Gift has helped me carry on and honour Kosta’s life.”
Kenzie's Gift was founded by Nic Russell whose three-year-old daughter Kenzie died in 2005 from an aggressive form of bone cancer. The charity supports children and young people through serious illness or bereavement by providing one on one therapy by registered therapists and a range of informative web-based and printed resources.
