EPA: Inquiry into 1080 operation in Mapara
The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) Chief Executive Dr Allan Freeth has announced an inquiry under the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms (HSNO) Act 1996 into an aerial 1080 operation on 6 September 2018, at Mapara near Te Kuiti, where eight cattle died.
The inquiry will focus on the operation’s compliance with the HSNO Act and the circumstances around the cattle’s death.
