Say goodbye to 2018 with a gig in North Hagley Park featuring Kiwi rock legend Jordan Luck.

It’s time to start planning your last night out for the year and the free SummerTimes party on 31 December is a chance to let loose and sing along to the Jordan Luck Band performing hits like, I’ll Say Goodbye (Even though I’m Blue), Why Does Love Do This to Me, Who loves Who the Most and Victoria.

Luck, as the front man and song-writer for legendary Kiwi rock band The Exponents, has had a hugely successful career with 18 Top 40 singles. Victoria was recently voted by public as the 8th greatest New Zealand song of all time.

Christchurch City Council Events and Arts Manager Karena Finnie says the concert is a fantastic, free night out for Christchurch. “You’re guaranteed a good time with friends or family because Jordan Luck has been entertaining crowds for decades.

"It will be a night full of the songs that everyone knows and loves and the perfect way to send off 2018 and welcome in the New Year.”

The party kicks off with family entertainment from 6pm with Mullet Man, free activities, fairies and a special kids countdown at 8pm before DJ Spinal takes over for the adult audience.

There will be live sets from local bands Deep Water Creek and Dillastrate, whose signature sound is a combination hip-hop, funk and electronic, before the headline act The Jordan Luck Band hits the stage with their repertoire of favourites.

The finale of the night is a fireworks display at midnight.

*This is a smokefree and alcohol-free event and bags may be searched on entry.

*There will be a wide range of food trucks at the event.

*Cycle parking is located at each of the entry points.

*Mobility parking is in the nearby Botanic Gardens car park.

*The Botanic Gardens car park will be closed for general parking and become exit only from 3pm on the day of the event.
