Attention Kāpiti creatives!

The Kāpiti Coast District Council is keen to hear from budding artists with inspiring ideas for community arts activities.

“We’re now taking applications for funding from the Creative Communities Scheme – a fund aimed at supporting arts activities that celebrate Kāpiti culture and community involvement,” says Acting Corporate Services Group Manager, Sharon Foss.

“We’ll consider applications for funding for a wide range of activities, particularly if they involve communities, engage young people, and promote cultural diversity and Māori culture.”

Ms Foss says successful applicants last year included jazz and classical concerts, workshops, interactive theatre, art projects on whakapapa for children and young people, film making and others.

“So if you have an idea for an exciting creative activity, visit our website to read more about the Creative Communities Scheme and how to apply.”

Applications close on Friday 22 February 2019.
