Night works to reseal State Highway 1 at Kaiwaka

MEDIA RELEASE

13 March 2019

Night works to reseal State Highway 1 at Kaiwaka

The NZ Transport Agency advises motorists of planned resurfacing of State Highway 1 through Kaiwaka next week.

The work will be carried out at night from 6pm to 5am when it will cause least disruption to traffic flows on Wednesday 20 March and Thursday 21 March, says the Transport Agency’s Northland System Manager Jacqui Hori-Hoult.

“As with all road works, the dates are weather dependant as effective sealing requires dry conditions.”

“The new seal will be across the full width of the state highway and traffic will be down to one lane with stop/go manual traffic control and temporary speed limits in place.”

“Motorists driving through Kaiwaka are asked to slow down to the temporary speed limit to ensure the safety of road crews and allow the new seal to settle.”

The Transport Agency advises motorists to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journey on these nights.

“We thank motorists and local residents for their patience and understanding while this essential maintenance is carried out.”
