Northbound lanes of SH1 in Auckland to close Sunday night

The NZ Transport Agency advises motorists the northbound lanes of the Northern Motorway (SH1) out of Auckland will be closed overnight on Sunday, 17 March.

The Transport Agency’s Auckland System Manager Andrea Williamson says the closure is to allow surfacing and lane marking work to be carried out.

The northbound lanes from the Silverdale interchange to Puhoi will be closed between 9pm and 5am.

“The overnight closure of the north-bound toll road through the Johnstones Hill tunnel will minimise disruption for road users. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for the journey.”

“There will be a marked detour in place via the Hibiscus Coast Highway between the Silverdale Interchange and Puhoi. The detour adds about 15 minutes to the journey.”

The Transport Agency thanks motorists for their patience and understanding while this essential maintenance is carried out to ensure the motorway is resilient and safe for all road users.
