Guide to draft Annual Plan for Kāpiti available
The draft Annual Plan process for the 2019/20 year continues this month with the Kāpiti Coast District Council releasing a guide to its planned activities, budgets and average rates increase this week.
Mayor K Gurunathan says the draft plan doesn’t propose any significant changes to what is set out in the District’s Toitū Kāpiti Long Term Plan 2018-38 and sees a planned average rates increase of 4.8%.
Rates are set each year as part of adopting the plan, which Council will do at its 23 May meeting.
People will be able to comment and ask questions for Council to consider during April.
“This is an opportunity for people to refresh their understanding of the plan that came out of our comprehensive consultation on Toitū Kāpiti in 2017 and 2018,” Mayor Gurunathan said.
“I encourage people to check out the guide and supporting information.
“It tells a strong story of where we’re investing in our District’s infrastructure and facilities and how we’re doing that in line with our ‘green line’ financial strategy to carefully manage our spending.”
Councillors would carefully consider all feedback before they decide to adopt the final plan, he said.
The guide and information on ways to comment are on the Council’s website and in its libraries and service centres – www.kapiticoast.govt.nz/annualplan2019
