On the morning of Thursday, July 14, the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Upper Whirinaki Hut to conduct a beacon search for a woman in her 60's who was suffering from a medical event.

The patient was located and airlifted to Taupo Hospital in stable condition.
