Exceptional Community Service Recognised At Hutt City Council’s Civic Honours Awards
Last night, Civic Honours were awarded to five residents who have shown exceptional service to Lower Hutt. Civic Honours are the city’s highest awards, and are awarded to outstanding volunteers in the community, to recognise their service to others.
Mayor Campbell Barry says that the Awards acknowledge the tremendous service of some of our residents.
"Avis, Jane, Peter, Tribhuvan, and Hine have made a real difference to the lives of others and our community in their own respective ways. They have served our city’s communities, whānau, and cultural institutions, all to make our city a better place to live.
"They have done so often quietly behind the scenes, with little recognition, and last night we got to celebrate their passion and commitment to Lower Hutt. It’s nights like these that make me incredibly proud of the people who make up our communities", says Mayor Campbell Barry.
Recipients of Civic Honours in 2022:
