Saving Lives In June
Over the month of June, your Greenlea Rescue Helicopter carried out 27 life-saving missions, including 7 inter-hospital transfers, 9 medical events, 4 rural/farm incidents and 7 motor vehicle accidents. Your Greenlea Rescue Helicopter crew were seen in the likes of Benneydale (3), Rotorua (6), Taupo (3) and Turangi (2) throughout the month.
On Sunday, June 19, the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter was tasked to National Park for a woman who was suffering from Sepsis. The patient was flown to Waikato Hospital for further treatment.
The same day, the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Galatea for a man in his 60's who was suffering from a medical event. The onboard crew flew the patient to Rotorua Hospital for further care.
The next day, the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Omori for a patient suffering from a medical event. The patient was treated at the scene before being flown to Rotorua Hospital for further treatment.
On Tuesday, June 21, the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter was tasked to transport a patient from Rotorua Hospital. The patient was flown to Waikato Hospital for further treatment.
In the early hours of Thursday June 23, the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter responded to a callout to the Waikato River for a man who had fallen down a 10-meter bank whilst walking his dog. The man was winched from his location and airlifted to Rotorua Hospital for further care. Both the man and dog are doing well.
On Thursday, June 23, the Greenlea Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Ruatāhuna for a woman in her 30s who was experiencing difficulties breathing and suffering from a serious medical event. The patient was flown to Rotorua Hospital for further treatment.
