Election Nominations For HB Regional Council
Hawke's Bay Regional Council has a full allocation of councillors ahead of Local Government elections in October 2022.
There will be just four ‘elections’ for regional councillors for Māui ki te Raki - the northern Māori constituency, Wairoa, Heretaunga-Hastings and Ahuriri-Napier constituencies in October's election.
The other constituency candidates for Māui ki te Tonga - the southern Māori constituency, Tamatea-Central Hawke's Bay and Ngaruroro will all be elected ‘uncontested’.

Voting papers for the local
elections will be sent by mail to all eligible voters on the
electoral roll from Friday 16 September 2022.
Voting starts on Friday 16 September 2022 and closes at 12 noon on Saturday 8 October 2022.
Postal votes returned by mail must be posted in a NZ Post Box before Tuesday 4 October to reach the Electoral Officer before the close of voting on 8 October 2022.
Completed voting papers can also be dropped into ballot boxes at local council offices or libraries.
All the constituency seats for Hawke's Bay Regional Council have been filled, with an 'election' only taking place in four areas.
