Police Investigate Possible Murder-Suicide Lead
by Selwyn Manning
Police are reporting that one of the two victims of west Auckland’s double homicide had a history of mental illness.
Forensic experts were called to the Universal Drive house this morning after the body of Malcolm Beggs (25) was found in the bedroom of the house, and the body of Lachlan Jones (19) was discovered dead in the garage on the front seat of a vehicle.
Police say Jones had recently moved to the property and was flatting with Beggs. Jones, police say, had a history of mental illness and was “known to police”.
It is not yet known whether anyone else was involved with the deaths. Police are asking anyone who knows anything to come forward and contact their nearest police station.
Forensic experts have been analysing a
knife which was found in a bedroom of the Universal Drive
house.
