COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER APPOINTED

AUCKLAND, 13 September 2000 - The Chief Executive of Fletcher Challenge Building, Terry McFadgen, today announced that Jody Stewart has been appointed Communications Manager for Fletcher Challenge Building, effective immediately.

“The role of Communications Manager is new for Fletcher Challenge Building”, said Mr McFadgen. “Jody’s primary role will therefore be to develop and then implement our internal and external communications strategies and to act as a first point of contact for media inquiries.”

Jody’s previous role was as Chief Advisor Communications for the Ministry of Economic Development. As part of this role she led the rebranding of the Ministry from the Ministry of Commerce to the Ministry of Economic Development.

Prior to this she was Assistant Director Communications for the New Zealand Treasury. As an Assistant Director Jody was involved in communications surrounding several Crown owned assets, including the Auckland International Airport, Wellington Airport and Capital Properties New Zealand Ltd. During this time she worked extensively with the offices of the Minister of Finance and the newly created office of the Treasurer.

Jody has also served in the NZ Army as the Assistant Public Information Officer, based in Wellington. She spent eight months in Bosnia Herzegovina as the Public Relations Officer for the First New Zealand Force to be sent to Bosnia as part of the United Nations Protection Force.
