New Luxury For Queenstown Visitors & Media

Visitors to the all season resort 'Queenstown' can look forward to newly refurbished rooms at the Copthorne Hotel and Resort Queenstown Lakefront.

The resort has spent $2 million on renovations, which includes the refurbishment of 95 rooms to a luxury resort standard.

Stage 1: The refurbishment of 65 rooms is now complete.
Stage 2: The remaining 30 will be on line by 15 July 2001, in time for the start of the southern winter ski season.

Many of the refurbished rooms have fantastic views of Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables mountain range.

The refurbishment work includes the provision of five suites which all have a separate entertaining area. In addition, the creation of purpose built facilities for the film industry, which includes camera storage areas and a production office. These facilities have been introduced because of the ever-increasing popularity of the destination - and the hotel - with the film and television industry.

The total project includes: -

* 5 lake facing suites and 90 premium rooms.

* Film production office, including communication access and office equipment.

* Film camera storage facility, including full camera electrical recharging facility, purpose built shelving, driveway access (trucks/vans/cars) complete with security systems.

We are confident that the renovations carried out will greatly enhance the appeal of this hotel to all sectors of the visitor market, and will firmly cement its position as the leading 4 star hotel in the region.
