Zealand Welcomes Fuel Quality Document
Shell New Zealand has welcomed the release of the public discussion document on fuel quality.
Shell New Zealand Chairman, Ed Johnson said today that Shell will study the document in detail, and he encouraged business, the public sector and the public to do the same and make a submission to the Government on fuel quality and safety.
“Shell is adamant that fuel quality must be improved in New Zealand. How this is to be achieved, over what time period and at what cost are among issues that Shell, the oil industry, the refinery, stakeholders, business and the public all need to consider carefully,” he said.
Mr Johnson said that Shell as a champion of sustainable development, was keen to see New Zealand fuels reach higher performance, health, and environmental standards.
In the meantime, Mr Johnson urged motorists to keep their cars tuned and in good running order to save fuel, to be safe and to improve air quality.
