Freedom Air Fares To Australia Due To Rise

Freedom Air today announced that it will increase its Trans Tasman fares from 30 January 2002. Flights from Auckland, Hamilton, Palmerston North and Dunedin to all Australian destinations will rise between $20-50, depending on the route.

Wayne Dodge, Freedom Air vice-president-general manager, says the aviation market is highly competitive and Freedom Air must regularly reassess its fares. “As a value-based airline we are continually reviewing our cost structures to ensure we are meeting our value-based objectives and providing passengers with the best possible service and the best possible price. Unfortunately, costs in the current aviation market have risen and we need to move with those,” Dodge says. “Our new fares remain extremely competitive and we encourage people to try our unique service.”

The new Freedom Air fares, from 30 January 2002, are as follows:

Hunter Region $499 $459 $40
