West Auckland Motorist Wins Kachingo! Cash

Monday, February 4, 2002

If you visited the BP service station on the corner of Blockhouse Bay and Tiverton Roads in west Auckland on Monday January 21, it'll pay to check your till receipts.

That's because you could be the winner of the Kachingo! monthly draw for January worth $250,000.

Whoever it is spent $50.20 on petrol, cigarettes and a Power Aid drink and received two game lines on the winning Kachingo! ticket.

The $250,000-winning game line is 01, 11, 16, 29, 30, 32 and the power number is 22. The ticket is valid for a draw date on February 3, 2002. Prize winners have up to six months to stake their claim.

Tickets worth $330,470 won prizes in last night's draw on TV2. In addition to the big prize, there were 38 division 2 prizes of $100, 1,040 division 3 prizes of $20 and 11,174 division 4 prizes of $5.

Kachingo! spokesperson Mary Vance says the fourth prize level has been introduced this month.

"We wanted to see more people winning," she says. "Kachingo! has been running in its expanded form now for more than three months and we now have the opportunity to increase the numbers of people winning cash just for doing their shopping.

"So we have increased the chances of winning cash by introducing the fourth prize level. To win a prize at this level you have to have three numbers plus the power number," Ms Vance says.

Anyone who has won $100 or more should contact Kachingo! on 0-9-309 4055 or call in to the Global Online Promotions offices in Auckland with the ticket, Ms Vance says. Division three and four prizes can be claimed from any Kachingo! outlet.

The easiest ways to check tickets are online at www.kachingo.co.nz or in any of the Kachingo! stores, many of which have new self checking machines. Results are also published in major daily papers on Mondays and on Teletext.

"If they want to, people can call in to their local BP service stations where the attendant will scan their tickets to see if they've won.

"Our experience is that a big cash monthly draw tends to remind people to check all their tickets so we're expecting quite a few claims for $1,000 daily and $10,000 weekly draw prizes, too," Ms Vance says.

The winner of the Kachingo! November draw worth $1 million is still to come forward. Whoever it is shopped at Woolworths in the Auckland inner suburb of Grey Lynn on Tuesday, November 13.

A Wanganui father of four won $250,000 in the Kachingo! October draw and the December $250,000 draw was won by a couple from Otaki on the west coast of the North Island near Levin.

It is just 14 months since Kachingo! was launched with Super Liquor as its initial retail partner. Woolworths supermarkets, BP and KFC joined the programme in October this year.
