Property Institute Announces Auckland Branch
Friday 22 March 2002
The New Zealand Property Institute today announced the members of its Auckland branch
CEO Conor English said today, "The new Zealand property asset base is worth over some $420 billion. The New Zealand Property Institutes 3000 members influence the decisions made about that asset either directly or indirectly. Auckland of course is a pretty big chunk of it, so our Auckland branch is pretty important."
The NZPI Branch Chair is Tony McEwan. Tony is a Director of Sheldon and Partners Ltd and specialist in the valuation of industrial and commercial real estate.
Auckland Branch Chair Tony McEwan said today, "So far 2002 has been an extremely busy year for the Auckland property scene with the remainder of the year also likely to exhibit a high level of activity. This is largely attributable to confidence in the market place, affordable interest rates, and the implementation of planning and strategies and investment decisions, many of which were deferred in the uncertain period of September of November of last year"
"2002 is also shaping up as very busy year for the Institute. We have a good cross section of professions involved and it is great to see a number of committed young professionals becoming involved enhancing services to the profession and thereby the public. We are looking forward to working with the property sector to provide a full range of quality services, networking and social opportunities to our members.
The Deputy Chair is Brett Whalley who is head of Corporate Services at Bayleys Head Office, Auckland. Brett has been involved in many facets of the property sector and is also an organiser of the NZPI National Conference which is to be held in May at Rotorua.
