Shell Gives Motorists Chance To Fill Up At Old Prices
Shell New Zealand has again put the motorist first by giving them until 4pm today to fill up at old prices, before Shell reluctantly raises prices of both 91 and 96 grade petrol, and diesel by 2 cents a litre. The increase may vary in different locations depending on the level of competition.
Shell Retail Manager Bruce Emson said the recent upward movement in the world oil price was hitting fuel prices in New Zealand. "We never like passing on the effects of higher oil prices, but it is a situation that is out of our control, and given the upward price of oil, the current price is unsustainable. However, Shell is committed to remaining fully competitive, and that is why we are giving our customers time to fill up at the old prices," Mr Emson said.
"Shell intends to continue to bring New Zealanders the best possible fuel prices," Mr Emson said.
