Freedom Air – Queensland Frequent Flyer
Freedom Air’s raft of new flights are due to take off from this Sunday (27 October), making it the most frequent flying airline between New Zealand and Queensland.
The first flights from Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch direct to Brisbane will start on Sunday, with flights from Christchurch to the Gold Coast launching on Tuesday (29 October). The new additions to its popular Trans Tasman services will see Freedom Air flying up to 40 times a week to Queensland.
Rachel Gardiner, Freedom Air sales and marketing manager, says the new services offer more New Zealanders a value based choice when making their Trans Tasman holiday plans. “Our everyday low airfares will now be available to those in the metropolitan areas, putting Brisbane and the Gold Coast in reach of more people,” she says. “Passengers will now be able to enjoy the flexibility and convenience of our high frequency Queensland flights.”
Freedom Air will fly four times weekly from Auckland to Brisbane, with six flights weekly from Wellington to Brisbane, seven flights weekly from Christchurch to Brisbane, and three flights weekly from Christchurch to the Gold Coast. These new flights are on top of existing Queensland services from Auckland to the Gold Coast, Hamilton and Dunedin to Brisbane and the Gold Coast, and Palmerston North to Brisbane.
Seats are still
available on these new services over the Christmas high
season, for travel between 16 December – 19 January 2003.
Airfares during this period from Auckland, Wellington and
Christchurch to Brisbane start from a very competitive $579
return. All airfares exclude airport taxes and insurance
surcharges, and special conditions apply*.

The
new Freedom Air routes come on the back of strong growth for
the airline and add substantial extra capacity to its
Trans-Tasman operations. The new routes also come as a
result of parent company Air New Zealand’s review of its
short haul strategy earlier this year and the decision that
Freedom Air is best placed to operate these new routes.
Freedom Air, now in its seventh year of operation, has carried more than 1.5 million passengers and has an enviable record for safety and efficiency.
