NZPost Accommodation Allowance To Dr Armstrong
New Zealand Post Accommodation Allowance To Dr
Armstrong
The former chairman of New Zealand Post, Dr Ross Armstrong, has drawn to the company's attention that he mistakenly claimed for two nights accommodation allowance in mid-December 2001 and will repay an amount of $360.
In March 1995, the New Zealand Post Board approved an accommodation allowance of $180 per night to Dr Armstrong for time spent in Wellington on New Zealand Post business. Dr Armstrong resided in Auckland and the allowance was an alternative to the standard Board practice of reimbursing hotel costs.
The last claim for payment of the accommodation allowance was made to New Zealand Post on 19 December 2001, for four nights dated 28 November, 3 December, 11 December and 17 December.
Dr Armstrong moved to Wellington permanently on the weekend of 8 and 9 December 2001 and will repay $360 to New Zealand Post that was mistakenly claimed for the nights of 11 and 17 December.
