Shop online for stress-free Christmas holidays

Experts agree the Christmas rush is probably one of the most stressful times of the year with gift shopping, baking, entertaining and ferrying the kids to and fro all helping to pump up the pressure on the stress barometer.

The hassle of shopping - whether it be for gifts or household supplies - can be a major contributor to yuletide anxiety. So if you're trying to avoid Christmas holiday stress, consider taking a quick trip to the keyboard instead of to the mall.

The folks at Woolworths Online Shopping have a few tips on how to save time and avoid parking hassles when stocking up on Christmas groceries .... and survive stress-free to enjoy your festive meal.

The tips are timely. Last year a survey in the UK commissioned by EXE Technologies revealed 54 per cent of people with access to the Internet thought the stress of Christmas shopping was increasing.

Nearly six out of 10 people interviewed said stores raised stress levels by being too overcrowded. Fisticuffs were not unknown apparently.

Woolworths Online Shopping's Richard Harrison says it makes sense to use online grocery shopping at this time of the year.

"We've set up our site especially for Christmas," Mr Harrison says, "with one-click access to the things that people need for a successful festive season shop," Mr Harrison says.

"If that fails to dampen your stress levels, you definitely need the holiday break."
